Welcome to Geopaths-Iowa
Geopaths-Iowa is a National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored collaboration between the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College aimed at improving geoscience education in the State of Iowa by providing in-service teachers continuing education credits through on-line and field-based courses, providing hands-on materials for Earth and Space Science (ESS) classroom content, and providing new and innovative matriculation pathways for K-12 endorsements in ESS.

Continuing Education
A wide range of continuing education credits are available through this program, many offered to in-service teachers at reduced or no cost. Courses are offered through the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College. Please click on the 'Continuing Education' header at the top of the page for a list of all courses available through this program. Otherwise click on any of the headers at the top for more detailed information.
A 2-credit online course, Geology of Iowa, will run each Spring Semester at the University of Iowa and will provide continuing education credits for in-service K-12 educators in the State of Iowa.

Discovery Trunks are available through the University of Iowa - Natural History Museum. These provide hands-on materials and lesson plans for active learning classroom content. A link will be provided through Geopaths-Iowa to connect with the Natural History Museum.
