2 Semester Hours - Online Course
This online course will explore the geologic history responsible for the landscape, soil, rocks, fossils, water, and natural resources of Iowa. It will provide a background of our state's natural history and is aimed at preparing K-12 educators to deliver Earth and Environmental Science content in their own classrooms utilizing the natural landscapes around us in Iowa. This course will be taught by Stephanie Tassier-Surine of the Iowa Geological Survey.
The GEOPATHS-IOWA Project will provide free tuition for this course for the first 20 K-12 teachers to enroll for Spring 2021. To receive this opportunity you need to:
1) Email [email protected] to provide information about your enrollment intent and teaching status
2) Enroll in the course through the University of Iowa
3) Complete a survey (click here) about your role in science education in Iowa.
